Introduction
We are Fundraising Futures Community Interest Company (trading as “Charitable Shopping”), a company registered in England and Wales with a company number of 12319823 and a registered office at One Elmfield Park, Bromley, Kent. BR1 1LU (hereafter ‘Charitable Shopping’, ‘we’ or ‘us’).
This is our standard cookies policy implemented to regulate the use of personal data and protect against data breaches (our “Cookies Policy”). This Cookies Policy is applicable to users of our website (https://charitable.shopping/) and must be read in conjunction with our Ts&Cs and or Privacy Policy. When you register your free account with us (your “Account”), you accept to be bound by this Cookies Policy, as well as our Privacy Policy and our Ts&Cs.
Any terms used in uppercase in this Cookies Policy (and not already defined herein) will be defined in our Ts&Cs. For the avoidance of doubt, references to “you” or “your” means a user of our Website who has successfully opened an Account.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies ensure a consistent and efficient experience for users of our Website. A cookie is a text-only string of information that our Website transfers to the cookie file of the browser on your computer’s hard disk so that our Website can remember who you are, either for a single visit or for multiple visits.
Two types of cookies are used on our Website- session cookies, which are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of your browser until you leave our Website, and persistent cookies, which remain in the cookie file of your browser for much longer (though how long will depend on the lifetime of the specific cookie).
Cookies will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the “lifetime” of the cookie, and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number.
How do we use Cookies?
Once you have logged onto your Account and click on any of our retail partners (the “Retailers”), a cookie will be “planted” by an affiliate network, allowing us to track your activity. This will assist the Retailers to identify you as a Charitable Shopping customer. When you have completed a purchase from a Retailer (after having passed through our Website), Charitable Shopping will be paid a fee from such Retailers which, in line with our Ts&Cs, will be distributed to the Charity you have selected (the “Thank You Fee”). These cookies are strictly necessary to perform the service and calculate the Thank You Fee to be paid to your nominated Charity. If you choose not to allow cookies then no Thank You Fee will be paid to Charitable Shopping and no donation to your chosen Charity will occur.
Cookies also allow us to obtain information regarding users of our Website which essentially helps us to provide you with a better user experience and tailor our services to your individual needs.
We may collect information such as your IP address, online activity, web browser details and online activity. We will not however collect or store any of your passwords or other highly sensitive data.
By using our Website with your browser settings adjusted to accept all cookies, we will take this to mean that you want to use our products and services, and that you consent to our use of cookies and other technologies as described in this Cookies Policy.
